Q: Arriving from Chennai on a flight that arrives in New Delhi at around 11:10pm and am looking to catch a train departing out of Safdarjung station at 2:10am. How long will it take to get to the rail station, and what is the best mode of transportation. Also, is Safdarjung rail station a safe place to be at night while waiting for a train. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.
A: safdarjung station is one of the make shift stations due to the constuctiuon activity at new delhi. it is not very safe. it will take you around 30 mins to get there by auto / taxi. given flight delays etc, u will not be able to leave the airport before 12 - i would suggest wait at the airport till 1245 and then leave for safdarjung and u will get there latest by 130, well before ur train. use a prepaid radio taxi so even if it breaksdown, they can call another taxi and u wont get delayed.
